Latest Updates from Our Project:

Adding a most wanted new full set to the rewards, Kickstarter delayed 24 hours for updates!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Dec 08, 2022 at 07:25:11 AM

We have received confirmation today that the same factory that made the Dice Odyssey sets (Sky's Edge, Purple Nebula, Outer Space) has a slot avalaible early next year for manufacturing a Blue Nebula version of this popular design, long sold out!

Since the Discovery full set has no standard numbers, this is a most welcome addition to the upcoming Kickstarter. Of course we had the cover ready (just in case) but now we still need to update the page.

Sorry for keeping you waiting!

If you would like to check the campaign page as soon as it's ready, please subscribe to the newsletter at www.giolasar.com to receive a link before launch. Hope to see you tomorrow at this time on Kickstarter!

Constellation dice: Discovery starts in 24 hours
over 1 year ago – Thu, Dec 08, 2022 at 02:46:15 AM

This is a special moment in Space History.

On December 11th, 1972 the last Apollo crew set foot on the Moon.

Exactly 50 years later, this coming Sunday, a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean will mark the completion of the first Artemis mission (named after the goddess sister to Apollo in Greek mythology) which will soon bring four astronauts, including a woman, to the Moon again.

In a few weeks, it will be also the first anniversary since the launch of the James Webb space telescope, which in just one year provided us with incredible images of great scientific - and for us stargazers, emotional - value.

We also love dice of course, and the upcoming campaign will bring some of that space magic in the palm of your hand. The Discovery full set features a selection of new and classic designs, in the same beautiful color combination from last year (a translucent starfield background, with light blue glowing paint):

  • Constellations d4 - new design following the d6, d8, and d12 you have from previous editions
  • Crescent d6 - from the Apollo edition set, featuring a prominent crescent Moon
  • Hubble d8 - new design with a selection of the main Open Clusters (e.g. the Pleiades)
  • Space Webb d10 / d100 - new design introducing galaxies to the collection
  • Moon d12 - from the Apollo edition set, where the craters display the values
  • Earth d20 - from the Apollo edition set, where smaller and bigger stars display the values

And, celebrating both Apollo and Artemis, both the Saturn V from the 60' and the new SLS-I.

All of these dice are numbered of course, just not with the standard numerals you will find elsewhere: the result is a collectors' set that will look like a full sky of stars in your hands.

The only remaining design from 2017 not yet available in the new color, the Eclipse d100 (which features regular numbers) might still be included in the full set - as a Stretch Goal.

If you missed the last campaign, this is also your chance to grab one of the few remaining full sets in the same color combinations as the new Discovery one.

Like last year, the campaign will run for just one week, with discounted early bird rewards on the first day, starting at this time tomorrow on Kickstarter. See you then!

The new d8 is ready! Pictures
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Apr 30, 2022 at 11:19:12 AM

The Constellation d8 design from 2017 has finally been manufactured, and it's available in the original colors of your sets: White paint on Sky Blue, Silver paint on Night Black, White paint on Night Black.

To read the value, count the big stars connected by lines.

It features constellations named after animals (except for Octans which was a navigational instrument):

  • Sirius (the dog star from Canis Major)
  • Canes Venatici (the hunting dogs)
  • Octans (South pole)
  • Apus (bird of paradise)
  • Columba
  • Volans (the flying fish)
  • Ursa Minor (North pole)
  • Cygnus

There are still 30 dice left per color,  so if you are interested you can get one at this link before they are sold-out.

Something was missing!
over 2 years ago – Sun, Jan 09, 2022 at 06:39:41 PM

This numberless d8 features Constellations named after animals (including the strange bear also known as Big Dipper) and was designed in 2017 for the Voyager Edition set, but then put aside in favor of the Compass d8, which has numbers and directions.

Last December's Kickstarter (launched to fund a reprint of the full set in a new color) went very well, and was the perfect occasion to manufacture this design for the first time.

This update is to inform you that, to let you original backers have the chance to add this d8 to your set from 2017, it will be printed in the old colors too (see above picture) in addition to the new ones. If you are interested, you can now access the pre-order manager for the campaign by clicking here. The Constellations d8 can be found in the singles section.

Unless you pre-order more, the plan is to make about 50 of each, which will be available in the same online store while stock lasts. Thanks again for your support!

More color options!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Dec 11, 2021 at 11:43:54 PM

The Kickstarter for the new edition of the sets is going well, and more colors will be made:

- Sky Blue with Silver paint / Light Blue glowing paint

- Night Black with Golden paint

Current backers will find the new colors as options of the base reward (White paint on Starfield) instead of having to switch to a higher tier. As backers of the first campaign, you have the same opportunity today :)

Just pick the €20 White paint on Starfield reward, or add-on one at €19 and in the pledge manager you will be able to switch to the new metal colors. Please click on the image to read the official update:
