Latest Updates from Our Project:

All blacks
over 7 years ago – Thu, Dec 15, 2016 at 08:49:36 AM

Following the success of yesterday's Master Collector's Bundle, 5 more are available.

Please note that after the €16,500 Stretch Goal for the monochrome Night Black option for the polyhedral sets, and after the €20,000 Stretch Goal for the monochrome Sky Blue option, all of you will be able to specify if your sets will be all Night Black, all Sky Blue, or Mixed, with the exception of the Northern Sky d6 which are only available in the original colors in the Collector's bundles.

The convenience of the Master Collector's Bundle resides in the fact that it includes both a couple of Night Black and Sky Blue Northern Sky Constellation Dice (just as the regular Collector's bundles) and two full polyhedral sets which, after the Stretch Goals are reached, will form both full monochrome polyhedral sets, with the Northern and Southern sky d6 in the same color.

For those of you who would like to get just the full Night Black monochrome polyhedral set, thanks to the fact that I will get more Night Black 1st edition d6 than Sky Blue, I have published today the 12 dice Collector's Night Black Polyhedral set for 25 backers.

Breakup of Funds

Red: production costs - Blue: delivery costs
Red: production costs - Blue: delivery costs

Having surpassed the €14,000 mark today, it was important to assess the exact quantity of funds available to the project after expenses. I took some time to examine your pledges, including content, destinations, extras, and our planned developments.

It turns out that shipping, sale taxes and Kickstarter fees are leaving very little margin to do anything relevant, expecially considering that I'm already investing my own resources in other aspects: the manufacturing costs displayed in the chart don't take into account the expensive glow-in-the-dark finishing of the dice, and the delivery part doesn't take into account logistics.

Basically this means that the next Stretch Goal (the Night Black monochrome option for the polyhedral set) has to be moved forward to €16,500.

We still have 9 more days and I really hope we'll get there, but to get there sooner, the little available funds will be used to advertise the campaign on Board Game Geek, a specialized website with millions of monthly views.

Let's call it the €14,000  Stealth Goal ;)

Welcome a full polyhedral set!

Congratulations!

A new frontier has been reached at €13,000... and we still have almost two weeks!

Thanks for your support and appreciation of this project, and for your patience while some things are being polished and fixed. I am still working a lot on the campaign page to reflect the new developments, and I'm not finished yet... but I have published the layouts for the polyhedrals, while the 3d renderings are being prepared.

How to get these new dice:

To check what you have already, please take a look at the Chart of the Reward Tiers section, which includes a visual presentation of the main rewards.

If you picked one of the initial sets (Anniversary, Collector's...) simply get the Extended version as specified in the section Extending your reward tier with dice unlocked by Stretch Goals (note that you can only get the Extended reward for your current reward tier. For example you can't go from the Collector's Bundle to the Extended Full Deluxe Collector's bundle... there are no more 1st edition dice left).

Alternatively please check the convenient Master's SUPERSAVER Bundle.

What to do now:

Don't let the big number up there fool you: I'm still only barely near break-even point after fees, manufacturing and shipping :) Each new design requires an investment, and we have now nine, including the reprint. We still need more backers to help us getting the monochrome option for the sets, or some good looking packaging. We need more backers to have some room to cover unexpected expenses. But the campaign is not over yet.

I am working hard on all aspects, including promotion, but the best one existing is word of mouth... and it's free, so please help me out :)

Just tell a couple friends about this project, maybe they know someone that might be interested. Tell your local game shop, your favorite blogger, tell your group of gamers: you will enable me to give back to you even more!

Survey Results - New Stretch Goal or... Plateau?
over 7 years ago – Wed, Nov 30, 2016 at 06:46:08 AM

Survey Results

As promised, I have prepared a full presentation of the last survey's results.

Most of you like Sky Blue as a color, but still definitely want Night Black for at least two polyhedrals. The color for the d20 will be Sky Blue even if more people suggested Night Black, because anyway the majority wants to make a mixed set (half black, half blue).

New Stretch Goal!

The remaining two polyhedrals (d8 and d20) will be unlocked at €13000.
Since we can still hope for more, at €15000 you'll be able to decide if you prefer to receive your set in the optional monochrome Night Black version, including the d10.
The original 1st edition Northern Sky dice will not be reprinted in that color, anyway.

...but ...did we hit the plateau?

Every crowdfunding campaign has a moment when less new backers arrive, and it seems the goal (or stretch goals in our case) seem far and unreachable. What about us?

We are approaching mid campaign, but still new backers join us every day.
Better than that, even if we only had one new backer per day, we could have gone on like this for a year... you are more than 365! Thanks to everyone of you!

Although I'm obviously happy, there is still a long road ahead to reach the planned destination, that is unlocking all the four polyhedrals needed to complete our set, and possibly making also a monochrome version of it.

Other than working at the new designs, I have launched a little banner advertising that is currently being published on Kicktraq, the website that provides projections on the final accomplishments of every campaign here (if you are curious, they are quite optimistic about this project reaching interesting heights... but let's be rational :D http://bit.ly/ConstellationDiceKicktraq ...).

Here is the banner, it seems to be bringing in some additional traffic already:

This banner will appear on Kicktraq until Dec.12th 2016

As you can see I'm doing the best I can to bring you the dice you want so much.
Now it's your turn to help! I would appreciate if you change your avatar to the following picture for the remainder of the funding period:

A beautiful profile image for volunteer assistant advertisers :)

You can already see it in my profile, it looks neat and will spread the word in the Kickstarter community. Thanks to superbacker biffpow for suggesting this strategy!

If you like the idea, I may prepare a couple more pictures to be shared on your social media.

Initial survey results - End of discounts

Colorful feedback

The last survey provided interesting results, based on the opinion of over 100 backers.

More people voted Sky Blue as their favorite color in the set, but Night Black is close and many would like that for at least two of the polyhedrals. This aligns with the prevailing opinion, which is to manufacture a mixed set

The only new color that made the charts is Dark Grey dice with white paint, to be applied the Compass d8. Anyway, since a good number of backers would still like to get a monochrome set, and many would like to get both their Voyager d10 in one color, this appears to be the best compromise:

To manufacture two black, two blue polyhedrals, and offer a further Stretch goal to provide an additional color option for just one Voyager d10 and only two of the polyhedrals, to get a full set in Night Black or Sky Blue.

According to the current results the polyhedrals would be manufactured as follows:

  • d4 Night Black
  • d8 Sky Blue
  • d12 Night Black
  • d20 Sky Blue

If we'll be able to make all four, the next Stretch Goal would bring us the option for a monochrome set, that will be either all Night Blue or all Sky Blue, except for the Northern Sky reprint (which will remain Morning Sky, and as such will not be included in the nominal full 7 dice set).

The survey will be still on for one more day at http://bit.ly/ConstellationDiceSurveyNr2

Black Friday ends in 10 hours!

To give enough time to backers around the world, in different timezones,
the Black Friday offers are set to expire ten hours from now.

You should have all received instructions on how to upgrade your reward at factory cost, reducing the need to increase your pledge further later on. Many of you already took advantage of this unique chance, because further add-ons will be priced according to the list in the FAQ of the main page.

A full Chart of the Reward Tiers, offering a visual breakdown of the available sets,
has been published today on the main campaign page.

I would like to point out that one offer in particular is even more convenient than it appears by reading the description, since I omitted to write it includes two more dice (the Southern Sky Constellation dice in Morning Sky color, both standard and glow-in-the-dark). The offer is the Extended Deluxe Anniversary Set, and is a STEAL!
